2024 – Year in Review

2024 Year in Review

I love it when it’s time to conduct a year-end review for my business. WHY? Because it lets me wrap up the year and leave all the setbacks behind! Ready for my 2024 – Year in Review?

I didn’t much like working in my business in 2024 and by the end of the year, I was ready to just leave it and move to Bali to teach yoga (my post is just as accurate today as it was four months ago).

We had more problems in my business than ever before.  For instance, marketing and sales strategies that had worked beautifully for years suddenly weren’t working anymore, there were a lot of changes which we had no control over which greatly affected our business.

And… for the first year ever, I did not  grow in my business.

I spent the year looking backwards and catching balls instead of looking forwards at where we were supposed to be going. I felt stressed and frustrated for honestly, most of the year in 2024.

So, here are the lessons learned in 2024…

No more Masterminds

Offering masterminds was amazing, but they were incredibly time-consuming. Now, I’m shifting away from endless group sessions and focusing on a membership that truly align with my vision, freeing up my schedule for more travel. I want to guide countless business women and help them create highly profitable, efficient businesses without expanding their team unnecessarily.

No more retainer clients

One of our clients unexpectedly passed away in 2024, resulting in a significant financial loss and prompting us to rethink our business model. While retainer-based relationships once offered a predictable cash flow, they increasingly constrained our flexibility and stifled the innovation necessary to deliver truly customized solutions. By shifting to a project-based model, we can focus on quality and creativity — tailoring each engagement to the specific needs of our clients without the limitations of long-term agreements.

and I won’t lie — it also gives me the freedom to travel more often since I won’t have to be tied to a client for extended periods here in Montreal.

More on a membership and less on coaching

1:1 coaching will never generate revenue comparable to what you can achieve with an online course or membership. Online courses and memberships scale far more effectively, unlocking greater growth potential.

I loved running a coaching program this year and it was an absolute joy to get to know my students so deeply in that process, but it took so many of my time that I will definitely be placing my focus in the future more on a membership and less on coaching.

Less M&A transactions, more Branding & Strategy experiences

M&A transactions are undeniably exciting, but I’ve learned that you never know when one will actually wrap up. To regain control over my schedule and carve out more time for travel, I’ve decided to limit myself to only one or two transactions per year. I also love working on strategy and branding, so next year I plan to dedicate more time to Branding Experience Days and our Showit Templates Shop that allow me to channel my creative energy while maintaining the freedom I crave.

As I wrap up 2024, I reflect on a year of profound change and growth. After an unexpected loss, I abandoned long-term retainers and launched a project-based VIP experience that fuels creativity and frees me to travel on my own terms. I now design one-, two-, or three-day projects that deliver high-impact results while giving both my clients and me the flexibility we need. I’m excited for the future as I embrace new flexibility and opportunities in both my business and personal life.

Now, I’d love to know… how was 2024?
