Blog or Podcast

Episode 12 – BLOG OR PODCAST? If you are thinking about promoting your business and must pick one strategy (Blog or Podcast), this episode is for you.

Maddy wants to promote her business, and she needs to decide if she will create a Blog or a Podcast.

I launched my online business a few months ago, and I want to promote my business! I was thinking about a blog or Podcast, but I can’t decide which one will help me promote my business faster. I’m helping women to further their knowledge of accounting, finance, and taxes. I offer 1:1 coaching, group coaching, and online courses. Any advice?

Here is what you do.

Blog

A blog is designed for reading. It’s written in an informal or conversational style. More importantly, blogging is the lowest-cost Startup idea; you only need to invest time in writing content and your laptop to do it.

First, you want to have your blog website hosted by a trusted company to avoid any inconveniences, such as frequent downtimes. The hosting services many hosting companies provide will cost you less than $20/per month.

Also, if you post frequently, you increase your website’s chances of being discovered and visited by your target audience.

Podcast

A podcast is designed for listening; it’s a digital audio file made available for download on the Internet. Podcasting has blown up in popularity over the past decade and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

Here’s all you need to start a podcast: a computer, a microphone, Podcast editing software, headphones, and a podcast hosting platform. If you have never created a Podcast before, maybe you could start by participating in someone else’s Podcast as a guest. It’s an excellent way to get started.

If you don’t know where to start, Jenna Kutcher has a course to help you create and launch your Podcast.

Another tip: Maybe you want to create a vlog to promote your business. A vlog is a blog containing video material you can download on YouTube. It is easy to view on the go and can attract more attention than written content.

However, creating videos can be time-consuming. Another thing to consider is the investment required; for the beginner, it could cost from $300 to $500.

Remember, to be successful, you must be consistent. The most successful way to build trust and connection with an online audience is to keep showing up. How many times per month do you want to blog or Podcast? Once a week, once a month. There’s no right or wrong answer here; the goal is consistency.
