The outbreak of the pandemic has more people working from home than ever in 2020. If you’re new to working remotely, these tips from a home-office pro can help you stay productive and maintain balance… because, let’s be honest, much of 2021 will also mean working from home for many.
Here are some tips if you are working from home.
Get Dressed
Getting dressed helps you feel more productive because it signals to you that you’re in work mode. And it’s even more important if you have video conferences with your team or your clients during the day!
Maintain Regular Hours
Set a schedule, and stick to it! Don’t fall into being available at all times of the day, and be careful of the pitfalls of 12-hour days.
You wouldn’t do that in the office, right? Have the same schedule as you have at the office. If your schedule is from 9-5, start your day at 9 AM, take the time to have lunch, and at 5 PM, close your computer!
Keep a Dedicated Office Space
The kitchen table, the living room, or your bedroom probably isn’t the best place. Maybe set up in the spare bedroom, and remember you need a comfortable desk chair to avoid back pain.
Be Positive
For many, working from home is associated with freedom and autonomy, but since 2020 working from home during the pandemic has been a different experience for some, though.
Focusing on the positive while working remotely can truly make all the difference.
Get out of the house, stay connected with your teammates, and establish a routine that will help you say positively during this uncertain time.
Don’t Forget to Socialize
You can socialize with your teammates and your clients but don’t forget to stay connected to your friends and your family.
Did you love to have a drink with your friends before the restaurants were closed? Why not pursue them via Zoom… it’s an original way to stay in touch and not be alone for a period that could last a few more months.
Are you working from home during this pandemic? Would you love to go back to the office, or do you love working from home?
