Amazing home page for your website

Today, let’s talk about your website… and your home page!

People visit your website with a purpose. It could be to check out your products or services, read your blog posts or listen to your Podcast episodes, or because they want to get in touch with you.

Most website visitors will land on your homepage first, so you must make a solid first impression.

HOW?

By developing a connection and building trust.

WHY? Because within a matter of seconds, your home page needs to introduce your products or services. You want your visitors to explore your site further.

Here are some tips for creating an incredible first impression on your home page.

Add a logo

Your logo should be visible at the top of your website. It’s the core of your business’ branding and identity, after all. If you don’t have a logo, use CANVA to create one. You can also create a Wordmark logo (a font-based logo focusing on a business name alone) to give your website a branded professional touch.

Add an introductory video or image

When you only have seconds to make a great first impression, the faster you can get someone the information they need to know, the better.

You want to create a connection with your website visitors. Create a video to introduce your business or create an image representing your brand. If you are selling products, you can show one of your products. If you are a service provider, why not post a picture of yourself or your team?

Add your value proposition

Your value proposition should be the first thing your visitors read when they land on your website. The initial text or image is meant to spark interest in visitors, leading them to view more of the website or leave…

What defines your business and distinguishes you from your competitors? One sentence should describe your value proposition. Your headline will be your value proposition, then add a sub-headline or paragraph text that will clearly describe your business and what you do or the services you provide.

Use clear CTAs (calls-to-action)

CTAs will tell your visitors to take some specified action (book a call, let’s connect, SHOP now). You can create a button or hyperlink for your calls to action. Your goal is to grab the attention of potential customers (your ICA), connect with them, capture their email addresses, and convert them into customers.

Add some testimonials

Providing testimonials is a powerful way to build trust and establish your credibility. They show new visitors you know what you’re doing and provide key insights into your products or services.

Success stories are a great way to inspire a positive first impression. If you are launching your business, give samples of your products or offer one of your services for free in exchange for a testimonial.

Remember, you never get a second chance to make a great first impression!
