Have you watched the Olympic Games? There are thousands of hours of training and sacrifices behind each athlete, but today let’s talk about mental health! Olympians, Entrepreneurs, and mental health are all related.
Last week, Simone Biles backed out of the women’s gymnastics final at the Toyko Olympics, citing her mental health.
I applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being.
Simone was strong enough to recognize that and to step away from enormous pressure. That is a win for her and everyone struggling with mental health.
First, she is winning in how she values herself.
She is winning in how she advocates for herself.
Plus, she is winning in how she sets boundaries.
But also, she is winning in inspiring other young athletes (and all of us as an entrepreneur) to trust our judgment regardless of what the rest of the world might say.
I don’t know what you think, but for me… she wins.
As entrepreneurs, we want to look strong.
We don’t want to talk about mental health. But a mental health problem is just as significant as a physical problem.
Simone Biles was able to make this decision even if the whole world was watching.
You can do the same!
What about you? Do you know how to set your boundaries? Remember, Olympians, entrepreneurs, and mental health are all related and have something in common.
