Work smarter, not harder!

Work smarter, not harder!

There aren’t always enough hours in the day to get everything done when you’re an entrepreneur. The goal is to learn how to work smarter, not harder!

Over the years, I learned how to work smarter… and here are a few tips I want to share with you:

Create and stick to your routine

I created a routine, and I try to stick to it. I always start my day by answering emails, DM, and comments on my social media. Then I have client meetings and coaching sessions, and I take time at the end of the day to revise what I did and didn’t have the time to do, to reschedule that into my agenda for the next day.

Stop multitasking

OMG, this one was so difficult to do! But I learned to do one thing perfectly, finalize it and move on to the next one. I use Post-it notes to help me go over everything, and my goal is that at the end of the day, all my Post-its are gone! I’m the queen of multitasking!

Automate more tasks

If you must do it more than twice, find a way to automate it! Since I launched my business, I have created templates and checklists for E-V-E-R-Y products or services I have… for E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G I do.

This was my way of being more productive. I hate having to go over 20 files just to find a past project and remember how I did this thing the last time.

Having a repeatable process, you follow the same way every time, seriously cuts back on the number of times you are looking for something you have already created. Most importantly, your report or presentation to your client will have the same design and look more professional.

Take a mini-break during the day

I used to start my day at 7 am, forget to eat, and wonder at 3 pm why I was so tired, with a headache and without energy, sometimes reading reports repeatedly because I could not concentrate!

Well, I learned to take a mini-break every 3 hours to go for a walk and call my mom! And, of course, I’m taking a lunch break!

Remember to also set boundaries for yourself. Unless you are a cardiac surgeon and your life is in danger if you don’t answer your phone immediately, your clients can wait until tomorrow for a response. Set your limits since working 15 hours daily will not suit your business.

Comment, I’d love to learn how you do things differently in your business! How do you work smarter? What about you?
